New scheme supports community groups with resources from businesses

Last week, Hackney Giving launched a collaboration with Match My Project – and we are inviting community groups and businesses to join the platform.

Match My Project is an initiative that connects local businesses that can provide resources with community organisations that need them.

At the launch, there were several inspiring testimonials about the connections made between business and community organisations in City and Hackney during the initial pilot phase of the project.

This included businesses connecting with local community organisations to provide them with resources to deliver their work more effectively. The items provided were wide-ranging and included blood pressure monitors, tablet computers and a cooker.

Tamara Wiltshire, Community Giving and Partnerships Coordinator at Hackney Giving, said: “Match My Project is an online platform that matches the resources of businesses to the needs of community organisations. Community organisations that sign up for Match My Project can get the support they need and get to build relationships with businesses.”

She added: “Businesses can support their community in different ways, whether that’s time, money, skills or resources. Examples of support that businesses can offer include volunteers to clear a garden, paying for equipment, space to hold meetings or recarpeting a community centre.”

If you’d like to benefit from Match My Project, either as a community group seeking support or as a business with something to give, you can sign up via the link below, or feel free to contact us for more information.
