How it works

Match My Project has been designed to be simple to use:

• As a community group, you register on Match My Project. Hackney Giving confirms your eligibility and accepts your group on to the platform.
• You add details of the projects you need help with.
• Businesses can browse the requests. If there’s a project they can help with, the business makes an offer of support.
• The community group reviews offers from businesses and accepts one or more.
  Community groups can also browse independent proposals from businesses to see if anyone is offering something they can benefit from. If so, they can request a match.
• When a project is complete, both parties rate how well it went.

The following types of project work well on Match My Project:

• Requests for goods, such as IT equipment or tools you need for your project.
• Requests for services, such as window cleaning or specific maintenance jobs.
• Requests for in-kind support at a specific event, such as a celebration or venue opening.

An organisation supporting older people was hoping to replace a cooker in their community centre. They put a request on Match My Project which was successfully matched and a cooker was provided, helping the organisation to continue to deliver its services.
