Hackney Giving Coronavirus Response Fund
To donate online, please click the “donate now” button at the top of the screen.
Hackney’s grassroots community organisations support the borough’s diverse populations day in and day out. In response to the coronavirus crisis, we are raising funds to support voluntary and community organisations as they care for our communities locally.
To donate online, please click the “donate now” link at the top of the page or the button at the top right of the screen. We would like to thank all our donors: because of your generosity, in April we were able to make grants of £15,000 to organisations helping people to access food and necessities. Hackney Council is supporting Hackney Giving and has agreed to match the next £30,000 that we raise, increasing the support that we are able to give.
If you would like to donate via bank transfer or cheque, please get in touch with Sarah Watson on email@example.com
How we will use donations
Your donations will allow us to make grants of up to £3,000 to:
organisations working with older people and people from vulnerable groups that will be disproportionately affected by the outbreak
organisations working with homeless people and refugees
organisations supporting residents with mental health needs
organisations that are supporting residents (particularly those on low incomes) access the supplies and necessities they need
Hackney Giving in a nutshell
Hackney Giving is a single point of giving for individuals and businesses that want to support grassroots organisations in Hackney. By choosing Hackney Giving, you can give money, knowing that it will be distributed both fairly and diligently and put to good use supporting communities locally.
Hackney Giving is run by Hackney CVS, an organisation with over 20 years’ history supporting the borough’s voluntary and community organisations and social enterprises.
Hackney Giving ran from 2014-2017 and is scheduled to relaunch fully in 2020 with a grants programme offering small grants to grassroots organisations. We have responded to the coronavirus crisis with this appeal. Our ongoing work to support the voluntary and community sector in the long term will continue alongside. Please feel free to contact us if you would like more information on how you can support Hackney Giving going forward.
