Start for Life grants scheme is now open to applications
Hackney Giving is inviting not-for-profit organisations to apply for our new Start for Life funding.
We are encouraging organisations that can provide families in Hackney information about Start for Life, increase registrations for digital and in-person services, and focus on overcoming any stigma associated with accessing Start for Life services.
Three grants of £10,000 are available.
Through this programme, we are aiming to reach the following communities/community of identity:
- Charedi.
- Turkish, Kurdish, Cypriot.
- African and/or Caribbean heritage.
The deadline for applications is 11am on 5 November 2024. (This is extended from 24 October, which was the deadline originally published.)
Applicants can read more about the fund on the Apply page on the Hackney Giving website.
Sarah Watson, Development and Programme Manager, Hackney Giving, said: “Hackney Giving staff are working closely with our colleagues in Hackney CVS’s EPIC Health team. Through the Start for Life grants we can fund three organisations, each working with a different community, to support their service users to access the Start for Life programme.”
Sarah added: “The funding has equity at its heart: helping new parents adjust and reducing the inequalities that exist.”
Support is available to potential applicants
Hackney Giving staff will be holding three “how to apply” workshops. These sessions will be led by Sarah Watson who will share tips based on over ten years’ experience assessing grants. Workshop participants will have the chance to ask Sarah about specific queries that they have about applying to the fund.
Sarah has recently shared many of the Hackney Giving tips on successful funding applications in a recent website article.
